I love buying fabric. I have way more fabric than I care to admit. I am always searching for new ways to use my fabric, especially ways to use my scrap fabric. One of my favorite things to make are fabric flowers! And the best part of these little Rosette flowers? You don't need a sewing machine!!!
I love my sewing machine. But I totally understand the desire to buying fabric and being totally intimidated by a sewing machine! Ha! So I wanted to share this super simple tutorial to make these super cute fabric flowers.
Supplies you will need:
- Fabric strip (2.5 inch x 15 inches or longer)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Fabric Scissors or Rotary cutter and mat
- 1 inch felt dot or Wood Circle (optional)
First step: Prepare your fabric
- Cut fabric into 2.5 inch strips. After cutting them into strips, make them different lengths. 15 inches or longer. The length of the fabric will determine how big the flower is. You'll have a chance to cut it down smaller, if needed.
- Take your fabric strip and iron it in half.
Second Step: Make the flower
- Put a little big of hot glue in the middle of your piece of felt or wooden circle, then take the end of the fabric and glue it to the middle.
- After it dries, twist the fabric so it makes a piece of rope.
- Then add glue and make a circle on the base.
- Keep repeating this step until you have a fabric flower to the size you want!
- Then add glue to the bottom of your flower and add the end of the fabric strip to the bottom to secure in place.
DONE!!!
See, its super simple and fast! Then you have the perfect fabric flowers to add to a favorite sign, add to a headband or attach to an alligator clip to make a hair bow. I love to add them to paper clips too! They are perfect little bookmarks!
